EISAA Chairman deliver important message to the young professionals

May 13th, 2023 Mr. Tewodros Guday Chairman of EISAA was invited along with the board member Yetemegn (Yettie) Kebede by Dan Energy to participate in the “Award of Certification Convocation Ceremony” as Honored Guest. Teddy was delivering his message related to Cybersecurity encouraging those Ethiopian future young professionals at Dan Energy R&D Tech Park & Training facility.

Dan Energy provided a three month training to those fresh graduates and others who have the passion to be entrepreneurs. The DAN-BRIDGES Training & Placements program’s supported by First Consult and others; was not only able to provide them hands on training but also be able to allow them to enter as a workforce for the “golden batch” of 100 engineers. The training included several course modules like soft skills and Cyber Security.

The chairman stated that "I was able to witness that young professionals are graduating with the final touch of their professional career and be a part of the event to congratulate the DAN-BRIDGES program graduates"

In his key speaker delivery session, he reminds the graduates that "being graduation is the beginning of the long journey. There are challenges ahead that are meant to be overcome and your journey is not easy but it doesn’t mean it is impossible. Be courageous, have critical thinking, do not be afraid to make a mistake but learn from it, and build your communication skills and be impactful in any opportunity".

He also reminds that Ethiopia has 37,4 millions people between 10 - 24 years old. You are the "GENERATION Z", who are the first digital-native generation, who always have the latest technology at their fingertips but have higher cyber incident victimization rates than previous generations. Digital transformation needs culture change.

Teddy also raised that digital transformation needs culture change and urges the graduates to be a change agent in the IT industry! Be a part of the change but not a victim of it. He finally requests that while they are in real life work to do their own part with small steps to make the big change and don’t sit and look when change is needed.

Finally, he crystallized his key message, that "the training you complete is the first step to understand the cybersecurity domain and have a readiness to make an impact on your behalf. Follow the company policy and inform the responsible individuals if you are aware of any cybersecurity incident within the organization.

On behalf of EISAA, Teddy gave his gratitude to DAN-ENERGY for having him in this important event and allowing him to share his part with the future professionals and workforce !!!
