In a well-functioning board association, the needs of all members are taken into account. The Board makes long-term decisions and looks to the future. Without activity and decisions, for example, awareness training projects will not be done, Audit and Assurance seminar events will not be conducted, and the continuous professional education will not be maintained.

2. Put your efforts to the basic step to create a big milestone

The board can make decisions that develop the Information System Audit and Control professions in Ethiopia. For example, conducting training, supporting the government in Information system audit related regulation initiatives. The value of the Information System Audit and Control domain is maintained when the association is well managed.

3. Bring new ideas to the table

Many professional associations have a stalemate in electing the board: they are not enthusiastic about the board and the former members would no longer want, manage or have time to join. Thus, the work of the board should be handled with a minimum effort. New ideas are not developed and routines are repeated according to old habits.

A member who genuinely wants to be a board member has the motivation and enthusiasm to do things in a new way. This can bring a positive change to the atmosphere of the entire IT- audit association in addition to the board work alone. At least the work of the board member is worth trying, because many people are afraid of board member responsibility in vain.

4. You are not making decisions alone

Often the biggest fear in board member work is responsibility. What if I can't? What if I mess up? Fears are often futile, as the board you are not alone. You are supported by other board members as well as the association manager. Their experience is useful.

Things are promoted according to the will of the association members and the collaboration work with government and non-government institutions. That is why it is important to conduct membership surveys and encourage everyone to attend general meetings. When we have larger projects, we can rely on professionals and we can acquire transparency in that regard.

5. You will gain a huge amount of experience

As a board member, you will have a wide range of confidential positions in your resume list within your favorite professional. Even when the association provides reasonable payment in participation of different roles to its board members, board work is essentially voluntary work.
